Taco Seasoning - Salt Free
Go with organics as much as you are able!
- 1 cup dried minced onion
- 1/3 cup cup chili powder
- 2 tablespoons cumin (I actually add an extra tablespoon-we love cumin)
- 4 teaspoons crushed red pepper
- 1 tablespoon oregano
- 4 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 2 Tablespoons of freshly ground pepper
- OPTIONAL -- salt!
Combine all ingredients and store in a cool, dry place. This makes a lot! As you begin to create your own spice mixes, remember to adjust seasonings to make it what your family likes!
Do not merely follow this recipe blindly, use this as a base. Make it and then taste Taco Seasoning Salt Free and see if you like it. Is something missing? Then experiment and create your own by adding more of what sounds good!
When you're using for Mexican dishes, use about 1 tablespoon or so per 1 pound ground beef, or chicken or beans. More if you like the extra flavor.
