For 5 years now, we have making our own laundry detergent at home. I was thrilled, as I have used Melaleuca detergent for years, but it was very expensive. We compared the homemade laundry detergent and it is every bit as good. We also purposefully bought an expensive organic brand sold at the HFS, to compare to our homemade. I am content with the homemade and we like the results.  After years of happy use, we are not going to give up this fabulous Prudent Recipe! Laundry detergent is easy to make and very inexpensive, just pennies per load!

We first began experimenting with this 3 Ingredient Powdered Laundry Detergent Recipe about 5 years ago, along with the liquid version (recipe on the site) and have never looked back. We threw out our expensive eco-friendly laundry detergent habit, having used Melaleuca for years and are enjoying this frugal alternative.
