Simple Paleo Primal Salmon Patties

Since salmon is such a brain healthy food, we try to eat a lot of it, especially since discovering that cheapie canned salmon is actually WILD CAUGHT. We keep creating new recipes so you can save huge amounts of cash! If you can't afford the fresh or frozen price tag for wild caught salmon, wild caught canned salmon is your new best friend!

Simple Paleo Primal Salmon Patties is a very basic, simple, salmon patty recipe that is simply out of this world. Easy, delicious, budget friendly, ideal for simple palates, and easing the family into brain healthy wild caught salmon without all the flavors. We whipped up 12 Simple Paleo Primal Salmon Patties for about $5 dollars! Low carb, GFCF, GAPS friendly, Paleo and Primal without the worldview and loaded with nutrition, Omega 3's, fiber and protein and maximum nutrition.

Simple Paleo Primal Salmon Patties have a fresh, light, lemony dill taste that is out of this world! It is truly embarrassing how many I snarfed down....really. Oh.

  • 2 cans wild caught salmon, drained (we use skin and bones)
  • 3 eggs (you can add a 4th egg if needed to hold patties together)
  • 2 Tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon mustard (we used horseradish mustard for some kick)
  • 2 teaspoons dried dill
  • 1/2-1 teaspoon cracked lemon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup coconut flour
  • Optional - 3-4 chopped green onions

Heat a cast iron skillet or flat bottomed skillet on medium heat. Because we had a ton of bacon grease, we decided to try frying the salmon patties in bacon grease, then switched to VCO.

Meanwhile, drain canned salmon. Ignore what it looks is brain building, just use the WHOLE can! Throw salmon, and the easily mashable bones and skin (ewww, I know) into food processor. Add eggs, dill, pepper, salt, coconut flour, lemon juice and 3 eggs. Pulse several times to mix thoroughly. Add chopped green onion if using.

Drop by 1/2 cup servings into hot pan with a drizzle of EVOO. Cook a few minutes on each side, until golden brown.

Place in preheated oven (set to about 250 degrees) as you cook, to keep Salmon Patties warm, as you cook the rest of them.

Makes 12-15 Simple Paleo Primal Salmon Patties, again, for right at $5! We had a great lunch, and plenty leftover for lunches all week. Wild caught canned salmon is such an affordable way to squeeze maximum nutrition out of a tight budget, and a killer deal for those following a low carb, paleo, primal, GAPS diet lifestyle!
