Peanut Butter Frosting

Peanut Butter Frosting

  • 1 1/4 cup softened butter
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1/4 heavy whipping cream
  • 5 cups confectioners sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Optional (to make Chunky Peanut Butter Frosting)

  • 1/2 cup salted peanuts

In a food processor, whip softened butter until creamy and fluffy. Whipping the butter to the proper point of creaminess makes ALL the difference in a good, homemade frosting! Add peanut butter and continue beating, incorporating peanut butter into the fluffy mode. Add heavy whipping cream and vanilla, beating into the butters.

Once the butters are all happy and fluffy, add powdered (confectioners) sugar a cup at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition.

It is always good to CRUMB COAT a GF cake, with a thin layer of frosting, to "seal" the crumbs in. Pop into the fridge for awhile to completely set. Once set, frost the whole cake with a thicker layer of frosting and it will be gorgeous, without worrying about those pesky crumbs sneaking in!

For Chunky Peanut Butter Frosting

Follow directions above. Add 1/2 cup salted peanuts into food processer, and coarsely chop and blend until desired consistency!
