Vanilla Cream Cheese Frosting
Cream Cheese Frosting is a delicious, cream cheese based frosting that frosts with a more informal look. It is wildly delicious, with the tart cream cheese cutting the extreme sugary taste of frosting. While I frosted our 15th Anniversary Cake out of it at my husband's request, it is not the BEST frosting to frost a formal cake with. It does not hold up as crisply as a buttercream will! But my goal was to please my husband and make him happy!
Cream Cheese Frosting will frost one 8 or 9 inch layered cake and is perfect with Carrot Cake.
- 1 8 oz package of cream cheese room temp
- 1 stick of butter room temp
- 3 ¾ cups of powdered confectioners sugar, SIFTED
- 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract
In a large mixing bowl, Cuisinart or Electric Mixer, place cream cheese and butter. Blend on low speed until combined. Scrape the bowl. Mix for 30 seconds. Gradually add the confectioners sugar, ½ a cup at a time, blending well after each addition.
Luscious Cream Cheese Frosting glides onto cakes with ease. It is super simple to make, a crowd favorite for cakes, carrot cake and more.
