Cappuccino or Latte in Vita-Mix
An easy fix for when you long for a cappuccino but don't have an espresso machine handy! Enjoy this is a quick gourmet coffee drink that whips up in the versatile Vita-Mix blender in seconds! Reminiscent of the fabulous Mimi's restaurant!
1/2 cup hot milk
1/2 cup STRONG hot brewed coffee or espresso
top with chocolate, chocolate shavings, cinnamon, nutmeg
Brew a cup or two of coffee. While brewing, heat an equal amount of milk (can microwave it if you use one, or heat on the stove). When the milk is hot, put it in your Vita-Mix blender and walk up the power, and froth on high for about 30 seconds, until foamy. When you turn the machine off, you will notice the milk has separated into hot milk and frothy foam. Pour hot coffee into mugs, top with desired amount of milk, spoon foam over the milk. Garnish with chocolate, shaved chocolate, cinnamon or nutmeg.
Cappuccino has about 1/3 milk, 1/3 coffee and 1/3 foam
Latte has about 1/2 coffee and 1/2 milk and foam
Additional flavors
Add 1/8 teaspoon of vanilla extract for a Vanilla Latte
Add 1/8 teaspoon of vanilla extract for an Almond Joy Latte
Add 1/8 teaspoon peppermint extract for a Mint Chip Latte - top with shaved chocolate!
FLAVORINGS
Add Torani or other syrups if you prefer. The options are endless
