Bride's Cake ~ Anniversary Cake

(adapted from The Cake Mix Doctor by Anne Byrn) We took this light, fluffy white cake recipe and adapted it to fit a wedding cake size when we recreated my parents wedding cake for their 40th anniversary. Over 70 guests raved about the cake - it was delicious, especially on a hot, Southern California June evening.

Pastry Crème Filling

 

2 cups milk

3 eggs

¼ cup sugar (heaping)

½ teaspoon vanilla

3 TBS flour

3 TBS butter

Bring milk to a boil in a medium saucepan over medium heat, whisking every few minutes. While your milk is heating up, prepare the rest of the ingredients.
