I did the gallbladder bomb! Unfortunately - I did not write down immediately what happened, so this is a little fuzzy and from memory. I began the day with the juice breakfast and not eating any fat. I completed the following protocol. Gallbladder Bomb & Liver Flush / CleanseRemember - you need to check with your health provider FIRST before trying any of these things out! Gallbladder and Liver Flush Products needed: • 1 gallon apple juice (organic) • Epsom Salts • Whipping cream and berries. Organic is preferred • Olive oil – Extra Virgin high quality – cold pressed organic Protocol: 1. Over the next four days, drink the gallon of ORGANICE APPLE JUICE (4 / 8-ounce glasses a day) between meals for 4 days. Eat a low fat diet during the liver flush. 2. On the fifth day, eat a healthy breakfast at 8 am and lunch at 12 pm. 3. At 2 pm, drink 2 tablespoons of Epsom Salts dissolved in warm purified water. (can put the Epsom Salts in empty capsules because of the nasty taste!) The Epsom Salts are horrible, so I stole a trick from my dad, plugged my nose and drank them anway! WARNING -- from the moment you drink the first Epsom Salts - stay near a toilet. There is no such thing as "gas" and no such thing as waiting. Run immediately to the toilet if you feel an urge! 4. At 5 pm drink 1 tablespoon of Epsom Salts dissolved in warm water. Ugh - a little worse this time, but chilling can help. I have now read that mixing them with juice makes it more palatable, and you can add powdered Vit C as well. Will consider that for next time! 5. At 7 pm eat a dinner of heavy whipping cream and fresh berries – as much as desired. This was my FAVORITE part of the protocol! I splurged and got organic whipped cream and just pigged out on perfect summer blueberries, blackberries, raspberries and a few strawberries. It was amazingly delicious, and made the Epsom salts not so bad! 6. At bedtime, drink 3/4 cup of extra virgin olive oil. A small amount (1/4 cup) of freshly squeezed orange, grapefruit, or lemon juice may be added if desired. Immediately after drinking the oil, go to bed and lie on your right side with knees drawn up to your stomach for 30 minutes. You may feel nauseated during the night. This is due to the release of stored toxins from the gallbladder and liver. This is normal and a sign that the protocol is working. (can take a cotton ball with peppermint essential oil to bed with me to sniff for the nausea) I did not feel nauseated - just intrigued and a little scared by what might happen! I got up once in the night, did not really notice anything 7. Upon arising in the morning, carry on your daily activity. You should have a few bowel movements throughout the day in which you will pass gallstones. (they will float and are green to tan-ish in color. They can be from gravel size to golf ball size). I did not really see anything that was definitevely gallstones. I was a little disappointed, but did not use a flashlight and definitely did not try to a colander - that grosses me out. I was hoping to feel physically better! Thoughts - while the whole process SEEMS terrifying and a huge mystery - it is really no big deal. I will never be afraid of the colonoscopy after this - I think the prep is reasonably similar! Cleansing Timeline --June 18-19, 2007 -- 24 hour juice fast (whole juices in Vita-Mix) June 20 - July 5, 2007 - AM juice fast (whole vegetables and juice in Vita-Mix)
July 5, 2007 - Gallbladder/Liver CCleanse Protocol above. Right after doing this series of cleanses, I became miraculously pregnant with a post sterilization reversal baby! At 10 weeks, we lost the baby. That story is here www.squidoo.com/blighteovumhope/
Disclaimer Incidentally, here is some information on flushing while pregnant. You absolutely MUST check with your OB/GYN if you want to do this.
