1/2 to 3/4 cup of milk

3/4 cup sugar

1 tsp of vanilla (or more to taste!)

3/4 stick butter

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa (Hershey's, Rapunzels, etc)

Bring ingredients to a boil, stirring constantly.  Serve over vanilla ice cream for a traditional treat.

Add whipped cream and cherries if you desire - but that is not how DQ makes the original favorite!
