Cheddar Bay Biscuits ~ Red Lobster

Image

Forget my call for Maximum Nutrition, you won’t find it with this buttery homemade version of Red Lobster’s famous Cheddar Bay Biscuits. Melt in your mouth, garlic buttery heaven, these are a splurge for a very special dinner at home, whether it is date night, anniversary or a birthday!

  • 2 C. Bisquick (or use the homemade version below)
  • 1  Cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 to 1  Cup shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 1/4  Cup butter melted
  • 1/4 tsp. dried parsley
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp Old Bay Seasoning (some say that makes all the difference!)

Preparation -
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Combine Bisquick, milk and cheese together to form a soft biscuit dough. Drop by tablespoons full onto an ungreased baking sheet and lightly flatten.
Bake at 400º for 18 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Melt butter. Add parsley and garlic to melted butter. Brush butter mixture over biscuits when they come out of the oven. Enjoy piping hot.

These biscuits are also wonderful with a delicious homemade soup with our Bone Building Broth as a base, and a crisp salad, for a hearty lunch or dinner. Enjoy!

Homemade Bisquick Recipe – Single Batch

(makes a little over 2 cups)

2 cups flour

1 Tbs. baking powder

1 tsp. sugar

1tsp. salt

1/3 cup shortening (can use VCO for some nutrition!)

Combine first 4 dry ingredients in a bowl, stir to mix. Cut in the shortening (or VCO) with two forks, or a pastry blender until mixture resembles course crumbs. Just like a pie crust!

Biscuits (Homemade Bisquick Recipe)

Single Batch Bisquick Mix

½ cup milk or buttermilk

Take Homemade Bisquick Recipe above and stir in half cup of buttermilk or milk. Gently fold in, but don’t beat to death or the biscuits will be tough. Knead about 10-12 times on a floured board. Cut biscuits with desired shapes or a juice glass. Bake in 450 oven for 12 minutes. Makes about 10 biscuits.
